The Fredericton Lady Foxes will host the Midget Girls Provincial Orthodox Softball Championships August 14-15 at Henry Field in Devon. All games are free to watch. We will have the complete schedule next week. Three of the ladies and coach George Fanjoy stopped by the FRED studios yesterday for a visit.

Golf's a fairly easy game when you think about it. Hit the ball again and again until it goes in the little hole. But every so often, something happens that forces you to get a little creative, perhaps even a little insane. 

The scene: the always-treacherous Road Hole, one of the toughest holes in all of golf. Many Open Championship hopes have died here, including those of Tom Watson in 1984. The player: Miguel Angel Jimenez, one of the coolest cats in golf, who was in the midst of an over-par meltdown and watching his major hopes blowing out to the North Sea. It was time to take drastic action.

According to genealogists at ancestry.com, the gorgeous Twilight star is a descendant of the real Dracula - brutal 15th-century Transylvanian leader Vlad III Dracula, AKA Vlad the Impaler, and the inspiration for Bram Stoker's infamous novel. Aussie man punches shark, surfs to safety

An Australian surfer fought off a large shark and then rode a wave to safety, reports said on Monday.

Michael Bedford was knocked off his board by the shark, believed to be a great white of "Jaws" fame, which then came back for a second charge, witnesses were quoted as saying.

But he punched the animal and then caught a passing wave to the shore, where friends used the board's rope as a tourniquet for bite wounds on his leg.

"He gave it a good whack he reckons, a good punch and that doesn't surprise me knowing Mick," said witness Lee Cummuskey, according to public broadcaster ABC.

"It is your worst nightmare and Mick's been through it and survived so he's just really lucky."

Bedford had surgery after Sunday's attack near Albany, south of Perth, and his condition was described as stable. Australia suffers several shark attacks each year, with 194 people killed over the past two centuries, records show.

Our goal is to get folks talking about cancer awareness.

Our good friend Lt. Navy Brian Owens joined us in studio this morning for our final briefing before we go on board the ship and sail into Halifax on Tuesday May 4th for the 100th Anniversary of the Canadian Navy....Brian and Lindsay will be looking after us while we are on board......

On the show yesterday we were talking about a bear in Vermont that got it's head stuck in a metal milk jug....and we got this great call....very smart man he is.....

April 12 marks the start of Terry&rsquos Marathon of Hope, the day in 1980 when he dipped his artificial limb in the harbour at St. John&rsquos, Nfld., and turned westward. He ran for 143 days until cancer caught up to him. He was 22 when he died June 28, 1981.

We had a blast at the Turnaround Achievement Awards 6th Annual Bowl-A-Thon & Silent Auction on Friday night at Kingswood.

We had a story today about 2 guys walking in the woods coming up on a Moose & Wolf fighting....the Wolf ran but the Moose charged them and they ran up a tree......the question is which would you rather meet in the woods? This guy told us a great story.....
